Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant criticised the Congress over its allegations concerning Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Supreme Court. Sawant alleged that Congress raises concerns over EVMs when it loses elections but does not raise similar objections when it wins.
Referring to the recent press conference by the three Election Commissioners, Sawant said the issues raised by Congress had been clarified and claimed that the party’s allegations had been disproved.

Sawant also referred to the Zilla Panchayat elections, which were conducted using ballot papers, saying Congress had opposed EVMs but still lost the elections. He said the result indicated that voters had not supported the party and accused Congress of creating hurdles to the country’s progress. Congress has previously raised concerns regarding electoral processes and EVMs.
