Says 14 per cent rise in petrol consumption

Goa has seen an increase of 14 per cent in the consumption of petrol, a senior petroleum official said here on Saturday.
S Sundareshan, secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said that while there is increase of 14 per cent in petrol consumption there is increase of six to seven per cent rise in diesel consumption.
Also, he said, there is an increase of 10 per cent per annum in the consumption of LPG.
“With four lakh LPG connections we have covered the entire Goan population with the LPG connections,” he said.
 “There is adequate supply of fuel to the state,” the secretary said.
He said Goa is one of the few states where the people do not have to wait for new LPG connection or a refill.
