Mapusa: Ram Surat Yadav, 28, a native of Utraula Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh was arrested by the Anjuna police for driving his truck in a rash and negligent manner and killing a scooterist at Mapusa.
Anjuna police stated that the accident occurred at around 9.30 am on Friday when the truck bearing registration number GA 07 F 6955 dashed against an Activa bearing No. GA 03 AE 5096 along the Mapusa to Siolim road at the Ganeshpuri housing board colony.
The impact of the accident was such that the bike rider Sanjeet Raudi Das, aged 28, and a native of Bihar succumbed to injuries while the pillion rider Alamgir Sijak Mullick, 31, from West Bengal sustained injuries and is presently undergoing treatment at the GMC Bamabolim.
Anjuna police have arrested driver Yadav under section 279, 338, 304 A IPC and are further investigating the case.
