PANJIM: National Students Union of India (NSUI) Goa, on Saturday accused the BJP government of taking a U-turn after the elections stating that the party which boasted of the Goa Yuva Samwad Yojana (GYSY) scheme before elections has now discontinued it. The scheme offered students free mobile calling and internet data.
NSUI demanded that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar visit all campuses in Goa now, just as they had gone there to lure students with the scheme, and apologise to the student and youth community for their ‘fake’ promise.
“BJP is known for their fake promises and jumlas before elections. Goa BJP, in particular, has gained popularity for their U-turns after elections,” NSUI President Ahraz Mulla said.
“The BJP, which boasted of the GYSY scheme before elections and made it one of their prime manifesto agenda, is now being discontinued. They claimed it was in welfare of students and youth. Now what about their welfare? Has BJP forgotten about their welfare after their agenda?” Mulla asked.
