Second phase of traffic diversion at Porvorim commences

PANJIM: The second phase of traffic diversion in view of construction of six-lane elevated corridor project at Porvorim commenced from Wednesday midnight, informed SP (Traffic) Rahul Gupta.

“As notified by the District Magistrate, North Goa, to begin with the second phase of elevated corridor at Porvorim, traffic on NH 66 will be diverted from later tonight at Mall de Goa to take road via Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue to proceed via existing service road to further proceed towards Panjim. Further, the work in second phase will also be carried out from the starting point of Central Median at Sangolda Junction (Porvorim Bazaar) to up to 70 metres towards Panjim side, leaving space of about six metres on either side of NH 66 for the use of vehicular traffic,” informed SP.

The first phase of traffic diversion at Porvorim was started from August 16, at two locations i.e. Delfino Super Market to Hotel Majestic (Sector-1) and Shreyash Nursery to Sangolda Junction (Sector-2) during the construction of elevated corridor project and will be in force till the completion of the project.
