PANJIM/MARGAO, SEPT 29 With just few hours remaining in the sensational Ramjanmabhoomi - Babri Masjid title suit verdict, Goa Police held peace committee meeting of Hindus, Muslims and Christians at Panjim Police Headquarters on Wednesday evening. Chief Minister Digambar Kamat is also learnt to have held meeting with the Director General of Police to review the security measures.

With just few hours remaining in the sensational Ramjanmabhoomi – Babri Masjid title suit verdict, Goa Police held peace committee meeting of Hindus, Muslims and Christians at Panjim Police Headquarters on Wednesday evening.
Chief Minister Digambar Kamat is also learnt to have held meeting with the Director General of Police to review the security measures.
The meeting is supplemented by strategic deployment of armed police at seven mosques and other places as there could be law and order situation.

Thirty-six out of a total 38 Tiswadi representatives including members from the sensitive areas like Chimbel, Ribandar, St Cruz, Taleigao and Panjim attended the meeting.
“Prevention is better than cure. We have suggested maintaining peace and communal harmony. We have also advised not to fall prey to any inciting language or activities,” said the DySP Deu Benaulikar.
The Government has otherwise banned any victory processions, agitations, protests and demonstrations as these are likely to provoke communal fury.
However, if situation arises, Goa Police is ready to hold nakabandis all across the State, he said.
To avert any potential knotty circumstances, a police sub-inspector, head constable and four constables have been deployed at seven mosques including three at Panjim and Old Goa, respectively and one at Agassaim.
The department has besides ensured repeated police patrolling around temples, highway from Panjim KTC bus stand to Agassaim Bridge, Panjim city and other places. 
Goa government has already imposed Section 144 CrPC with effect from 00:00 hours on September 30, 2010 to October 3, 2010.
During the enforcement of this order, assembly and collection of five or more persons, carrying out fire arms or weapons, use of loudspeakers, shouting slogans, burning fire crackers are prohibited in the whole North Goa district.
Chief Minister along with DGP Bhim Sen Basi on Wednesday too reviewed the security arrangements in Margao on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the security arrangements in sensitive areas such as the Rumamol Housing Board, Margao market, Moti Dongor, Margao Railway Station and other areas of Margao sub-division, including Cuncolim.
It has been decided to deploy police in strength in the communally sensitive Rumdamol Housing Board. Six platoons of police force, besides force from the police stations, will be deployed across the Margao police sub-division as a precautionary measure.
