MARGAO: Fatorda Police on Wednesday registered a complaint against one Arun Kelekar from Per Seraulim following a complaint by Sheena Gracias, a known Konkani stage artiste that he had defamed her by sending a misleading video in a whatsapp group.
According to Sheena’s complaint, a video of a woman taking what looks like cash from a drawer of a shoe shop was circulating on WhatsApp and in the accompanying text it is mentioned that it was she who was stealing.
She further mentioned that it was Arun who had circulated the video and the text on the WhatsApp group and that is why the complaint is registered against him.
Police Inspector Navlesh Dessai while stating that they have registered the complaint under Section 500 of the Indian Penal Code said the matter would be referred to the Information Technology cell for further investigations.
