Seraulim senior citizen murdered in cold-blood
MARGAO: In a cold blooded act, a 72-year-old man from Seraulim Conceissao Menino D’Silva was found murdered in his room on Sunday.
His body was found lying in a pool of blood by his daughter on Sunday noon. Colva police said that D’Silva’s throat was slit, while another injury was spotted on his head, even as the police suspected a scuffle in the room before his demise.
Police said the incident came to light at around 1.30 pm when D’Silva’s daughter inquired about his whereabouts since he was not seen around entire morning. When the daughter visited the room he was staying near the house, she found him lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
Colva police station in charge, PI Devendra Gad along with PSI Sudesh Velip rushed to the spot after receiving information. Services of the sniffer dog and a finger print expert were requisitioned to assist the police in the investigations, even as the district police chief Arvind Gawas and DySP Shamba Sawant visited the site this evening.
Police said the exact motive behind the incident remains unknown, but hastened to add that they are looking into all possible angles.
