MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party Goa convener Elvis Gomes said the rapid rise in coronavirus cases in the Cuncolim industrial area and other industrial areas calls for rapid response from the government to contain the spread.
Gomes said he had expressed his view and was repeating it that the government with the help of GIDC and industries association should have established COVID Care Centres within the precincts of the industrial areas by allowing use of CSR funds available with the industry.
The associations and GIDC should make the necessary arrangements under supervision of the medical authorities by providing for oxygen levels monitoring and secondary treatment, he said.
“This is the time to spend the CSR fund. Movement of industrial workers around the markets and rental residences could prove counterproductive to health of local communities,” Gomes cautioned.
