MARGAO: Several NGOs will celebrate the 54 years of Opinion Poll Day on January 16, at Lohia Maidan, here, under the theme of Goenkar — Ek Pavl Ekcharachem.
Various organisations from across the State have decided to join hands and commemorate the Opinion Poll Day. People from all over State cutting across caste, creed, religion, and especially political differences, have been requested to come to Lohia Maidan on Saturday in large numbers and participate in the celebration, and take a pledge to protect Goa for the future generations, including those who are yet to be born.
Creson Antao, Vikas Bhagat, Orville Dourado Rodrigues, Olencio Simoes, Freddy Travasso, Inacio Vaz, Capitan Viriato Fernandes and others from various NGOs have requested the Goans to attend the celebration in large numbers.
Bhagat while speaking at the press briefing said, “We are in the 54th year of Opinion Poll. All the NGOs are called to attend and witness the cultural programme of and for Goans unity.”
Simoes said that Goa is facing many issues and a discussion will be held on ways to solve them.
Captain Viriato complained that the projects not wanted by people are being pushed and the protesting people are being trampled upon. What is the action taken against the police? Why this government is behaving in this manner against our own people. The U-turn by the minister from Valpoi is a big question mark on the integrity of the government.
