PERNEM: Sewage water is blatantly being released into sea at Arambol beach polluting the water.
On visited to Arambol beach on Monday, it was found that sewage was flowing right at the main entrance of the beach near Morning Star Beach Shack. The sewage was flowing from a pipe buried in sand.
It was also found that the storm water drain was flowing with dirty water and polluting the sea.
Sources informed that shacks/restaurants operating on the beach release the dirty water into the sea; and to avoid the bad odor, phenyl is added to the dirty water.
Sources also claimed that most of the restaurants, operating on the beach, do not have their own soak pits due to which, they release the waste water into the sea or through underground pipelines.
