VASCO: F L Gomes Road in Vasco, which is the main road for commuters of Headland Sada and Baina, has turned into a dumping yard for abandoned vehicles, garbage and debris.
The recent visit by local MLA Carlos Almeida and MMC Chairperson Nandadeep Raut to inspect the ongoing divider work along this road appears to be ‘eyewash’ as these representatives have turned a blind eye to the already congested F L Gomes Road.
On social media, Almeida posted some photos wherein he along with the MMC chairperson and other councillors inspected the road with regards to the new divider work. In his post, he mentioned that he has urged the contractor to complete the divider work on war footing to ensure that the hot-mixing of road can be done immediately.
Sadly, the F L Gomes Road lies in a sorry state as scrapped vehicles, debris, garbage, concrete slabs, and signboards have been dumped along the route.
Raut admitted that he along with the MLA on Sunday inspected the divider work. When asked whether he would clear the unwanted material along the road, Raut said he would look into the matter.
