MARGAO: The South Goa Planning Development Authority (SGPDA) Chairperson Renuka Da Silva has agreed to consider all the objections and suggestions from the people while preparing the outline development plan (ODP) of Margao-Fatorda and Ponda.
Though there is no extension of date for the land use maps for now, the SGPDA has said that it may take an additional 3-4 months for the ODP to be completed and throw it open for objections and suggestions.
Renuka has clarified to those objecting to land use map that the process is not of zoning, but showing the present physical state of the lands in the ODP areas of Margao.
“Don’t ask bluntly for scrapping of the land use plan. We have put in lot of work in preparing the land use plan,” she said.
She further clarified that the SGPDA was not in a hurry to get the ODP completed without going through the process mandated in law.
On the involvement of Margao municipality in the process, the chairperson said, “We are of the opinion that the MMC has to be taken into the process and hence ward wise land use maps will be given to all the Councillors so that they cross check and file for changes if any.”
The SGPDA has also informed that this process will be followed by a CDP (Comprehensive Development Planning) process where people and all the allied departments would be taken into consideration.
“After the CDP is completed, the ODP will be formulated and kept for objections and suggestions after which the final ODP will be formulated,” Renuka said.
