SGPDA Wholesale Fish Market Awaits Inauguration as Vijai Sardesai Questions Delay

The long-awaited SGPDA wholesale fish market is complete and ready for operation but continues to await its official inauguration, prompting criticism from opposition leaders over the delay in making the facility available to the public.

Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai questioned the prolonged delay in opening the wholesale fish market, alleging that the project has become an “ATM machine” for the BJP. He criticised the government for not commissioning the facility despite it being ready for use.

Sardesai urged the authorities to make the market operational at the earliest, stating that fish vendors and consumers have been waiting for the infrastructure, which was intended to improve wholesale fish trading and provide better facilities for stakeholders.

The delay in inaugurating the market has sparked political debate, with opposition leaders demanding an explanation from the government and calling for the immediate opening of the long-pending project for public benefit.
