PANJIM: Following consistent demands to grant beach shack licenses before the commencement of the tourism season, Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar assured shack operators of an expeditious process this season.
According to the information shared with the media, the shack allotment process for 2017-18 is scheduled to begin from September 4 and will be completed by September 20.
Azgaonkar said, “I have directed the Department of Tourism to complete the entire shack allotment process in time before the tourism season commences. The department will ensure that shack operators comply with all the requisite documents and formalities so that shack operations commence in a smooth manner.”
The minister also appealed to the operators to comply with all environmental requirements so that cleanliness and hygiene is maintained on the beaches and directed shack operators not to violate rules or regulations.
