PONDA: Goa Mining Peoples Front (GMPF) leader Puti Gaonkar on Wednesday said that BJP National President Amith Shah has assured to find a legal solution to recommence mining before Lok Sabha election dates are announced.
Speaking to reporters on his arrival from New Delhi after meeting Shah, Gaonkar said that a way for mining resumption would come soon and he expected the good news before Monday.
Gaonkar even said that Shah told them that there was no need to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP itself would find solution for the mining issue.
Gaonkar said that the mining dependents must keep faith in the BJP president and wait for some days. However, he warned that if no solution comes before Lok Sabha elections, then, the mining dependents would work against BJP candidates at polls.
On the proposed rastha roko at Sanquelim on January 21, he said that the mining dependents would discuss issue at a meeting on January 17 at Ponda.
