Shah holds review meet with CM on party’s preparations for Lok Sabha polls

PANJIM: Ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday held a review meeting with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on the party’s preparations for the two seats in the State.

Speaking to media persons after arriving back from Delhi, Sawant said that the meeting was with regards to the review of preparation for Lok Sabha elections. “A detailed discussion was held with regards to both the seats- North and South,” he said.

BJP national president J P Nadda was also present at the meeting along with the Goa State BJP president Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Central party leader B L Santosh.

Sawant said that Shah is holding a review meeting with all the States.

With the BJP senior leader rushing to Delhi on Wednesday, speculations were high with regards to possible State cabinet reshuffle and also candidature for Lok Sabha polls.

However, the Chief Minister refused to comment in this regard.

Currently, Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik is BJP MP from North Goa while, South Goa seat is held by Francisco Sardinha of Congress.
