The Opposition has alleged that the government is spending crores of rupees on event management. It also accused the government of taking post facto approvals for most event payments to companies and was following the Shah Jahan Model.
Post facto approval was taken for expenditure on two years of Sawant government, 60 years of Liberation, Yoga day, Statehood day etc. The Opposition demanded a House Committee to probe these tenders which run into crores. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that tenders have been invited for all events, but agreed that post facto approval was taken.
