MARGAO: The shifting of three courts from the Trial Court building premises at Margao to the District and Sessions Court Complex building from Monday onwards, may end up creating parking problems for advocates, judges and litigants.
According to some advocates, since three courts have been shifted, the volume of traffic will increase in the area, merely with the number of vehicles of advocates and litigants.
With a parking space for just 40 vehicles inside the premises of District and Sessions Court complex, others will be forced to park their vehicles either on the outer periphery of the court complex or by the road side.
The courts had to be shifted to the trial court premises after the roof of the heritage building housing the Civil and Criminal courts at Margao began leaking.
The lawyers who frequent the court had held a protest, refusing to enter the premises until the roof was repaired, and all the leaks plugged.
