It may be recalled that all the 10 councillors, who are supporters of Congress MLA Vishwajit Rane, had decided that the terms for leading the council as chairperson and vice chairperson will be on rotation basis. First two years were allocated to former chairperson Umesh Gulelkar and the next two years for present chairperson Ramdas Shirodkar. In December last year, the term of the present chairperson Shirodkar got over and Nanus Councillor Sharafat Khan will be the next chairperson of VMC.
