PANJIM: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch (CB) has objected to the bail application filed by mining trader Imran Khan.
In its submission objecting to the bail application before the Special Court, Panjim, SIT said, “Witnesses have been traced who were privy to the commission of offence of theft of iron ore and they are willing to disclose the facts before the investigating agency. There is likelihood that the accused applicant (Khan) will threaten/induce the witnesses thereby hampering the investigation.” The court has reserved the order, which would be pronounced on Friday.
The State also said the Khan’s custody would facilitate the SIT to confront witnesses and also to collect corroborative evidence with respect to the offence.
