SIT questions mine owner

PANJIM: Premanand Kadnekar, owner of Kadnekar mines was on Friday questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) as part of the probe into illegal mining scam. He will be questioned by the DIG K K Vyas again on Saturday. The SIT has questioned several people including former chief minister Digambar Kamat in the first of 10 cases it is investigating. It will question mines official Shyam Sawant and retired senior geologist Hector Fernandes on Monday. Meanwhile, the Commisionerate of Central Excise and Customs submitted its report to SIT on Friday.
