PANJIM: Four months after forming a BJP-led coalition government in the State, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar made a candid submission that he was “not in the mood to do something big in Goa after being left with just 13 MLAs”.
“When we were left with just13 MLAs, I was not in mood to do something big in Goa but the situation was so that I had to come back to Goa,” Parrikar said, delivering his campaign speech in Panjim on Monday. “I have come here to make something different…a complete different Goa,” he stated.
The Chief Minister said it took him nearly two to three months to adjust to Goa’s flavour after returning. “Initially I had Delhi impact and had weakness, but as days passed the health graph improved. I have now gained half kg weight,” he said.
“Since then, I have not missed Delhi, I don’t even remember being Defence Minister and that is the charm of Goa. I got people’s comfort back,” he said thanking his supporters.
Parrikar assured to take Goa on a different path, not just on infrastructure but also inculcating positive thinking. “We have developed a technical team which is working on a development pattern. A pattern that will set an example across the country. The pattern that will take Goa to a different path. A completely changed Goa,” he said.
“From the day of election result, there will be a reverse count of 365 days, where I will list out all the works for the city and will ensure that in those 365 days either these works are complete or in process of completion,” Chief Minister said.
