A slip road was considered a dire necessity at the Old Market round about to regulate traffic heading towards Colva and the swimming pool side and ease congestion. In this connection, the PWD had taken up the work on the slip road around a year-and-half ago, but the work remains incomplete till date. Strange it may seem but true that the Margao Traffic Cell has installed a traffic box right along the slip road for want of dividers.
The slip road is also awaiting a hot mix coat as the road has turned uneven, with craters surfacing all over the stretch. Traffic Police said the PWD is literally dragging on with work on the slip road for over a year-and-half now and has no idea when the slip road will be complete in all respects.
