PERNEM: Smita Rama Kalangutkar has been elected unopposed as Sarpanch of Ozari panchayat on Tuesday.
The election of a new sarpanch was necessitated following the resignation of then sarpanch Sangita Goankar under a mutual agreement to rotate the post. Kalangutkar was declared elected unopposed by presiding officer Chandrahas Dessai.
After the election to the panchayat, the ruling group of panchas had entered into an agreement to occupy the post of sarpanch on rotation.
Sudam Parab will continue as Deputy Sarpanch.
