MARGAO: Salcete was abuzz on Tuesday due to a fake message on the social media that went viral showing a picture of an apparently murdered girl lying on the ground with blood all over the place.
An accompanying report also added that it was the picture of a nurse who was raped and murdered at Hospicio, which proved to be false. In fact, subsequent posts said the incident had occurred in Bihar, while another said it was in Kashmir.
While pointing out that the news was false, Hospicio Medical Superintendent Ira Almeida disclosed that she had complained about it to the crime branch and expected action against the person who posted the false news.
DySP Raju Raut Dessai also dismissed the news as a false.
