MARGAO: The United Goans Foundation (UGF) has alleged that the inspection of former MLA of Fatorda Damu Naik and PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar of the sewage flow as an “official, political roadshow”.
The UGF alleged that they are trying to trivialise the ground work by solving the issue of sewage pollution.

While warning all the officials of the PWD and Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Ltd (SIDGCL) of resolving the issue within 10 days, UGF’s Ashish Kamat said that the former as well as present MLA of the Fatorda Constituency have conveniently ignored them for at least six years.
The UGF claimed that their organisation had petitioned the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) regarding the sewage flow and the resultant ground water contamination of River Sal due to which the Board was prompted to inspect the sites.
PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar was apparently called on by the former MLA of Fatorda Damu Naik after locals of the area complained of the sorry plight of overflowing sewage and also foul smell emanating from the same.
The UGF says that the SIDGCL has been issued notices by GSPCB regarding this problem on the basis of their complaint and the inspection was an intelligent move by the Executive Engineer calling on the PWD minister and others showing that now the issue will be resolved.
