Son who stabbed mother succumbs in GMC

MARGAO: Rosario D’Costa, aged 49,  undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim after he stabbed his mother with a knife at his residence, Navelim, expired on Saturday.

Margao Police said that he was sick and was treated at GMC. A case of unnatural death has been registered and the body has been preserved at GMC and post mortem examination is awaited.

In a shocking incident, Rosario stabbed his mother Rosy, aged 85, with a knife late night. Mother had received injuries on her hand and has been admitted in GMC for treatment. She is still in the ICU, the police said.

Police have recovered the knife used by the accused to stab her mother.

According to police, the alleged accused Rosario was arrested and as per the orders of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Margao was lodged in Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour. However, since he became sick, the police took orders from the JMFC and admitted him in GMC for treatment.
