Traffic flowed smoothly on the second day of the International Film Festival of India, as elaborate traffic arrangements have been made for the unencumbered passage of vehicles.
Speaking to Herald, Traffic Police Inspector Dharmesh Angle said necessary traffic arrangements have been made on the stretch of D B Marg where the main IFFI venues are located and this will continue for the next eight days.
“The stretch from ESG to Kala Academy has been marked as no parking zone and no vehicle will be allowed to park on this stretch. The main road is barricaded from both sides so that people don’t cross the road which in turn halts traffic movement,” Angle said.
“Only vehicles with dedicated car pass will be allowed to park their vehicles inside Kala-Academy and Inox. To ease traffic congestion the entire Campal football ground has been allotted for car parking with pass,” he added.
Speaking to Herald, residents in the area appreciated the manner in which the traffic management has been put in place for the festival.
“Till now the traffic flow has been very smooth. Traffic cops have been placed at different locations for smooth traffic flow and till now not a single traffic jam has been reported,” Anirudha Bhaje said.
Panjim residents, and those living around the city, expressed satisfaction in the manner traffic has been managed by the authorities.
