PANJIM: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar will release a commemorative philatelic special cover to mark the birth centenary of late Jack de Sequeira, first Leader of the Opposition of Goa, Daman and Diu Legislative Assembly.
The commemorative philatelic special cover will be released on May 30, 2015, at 8.45 am, at the Seminar Hall, Secretariat Complex, Porvorim.
Dr Jack de Siqueira is also known as the Father of the Opinion Poll which was held to fight against the merger of Goa with the neighbouring state of Maharashtra.
The Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Rajendra Arlekar will preside over the function.
