Spiritual tourism to be boosted in State

PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has batted for spiritual tourism being promoted in the State.

The CM was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of National Selected Delegates Meeting by Arya Ediga Rashtriya Mahamandali held at International Centre Goa (ICG), Dona Paula on Wednesday.

“Goa is not just about the sun, sand and sea, but is also known for spiritual tourism. There are temples, churches, heritage sites which are promoted. Spiritual tourism being part of it should also be uplifted,” said Sawant.

Union Minister of State (MoS) for Tourism and Ports Shripad Naik; Minister for Social Welfare Karnataka, Kota Srinivas Poojari; Arya Ediga Rashtriya Mahamandali National President, Dr Pranavananda Swamiji; Former Minister and Arya Ediga Samaj Senior Leader Malikaiah Guttedar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The CM congratulated Arya Ediga Rashtriya Mahamandali for holding various activities around the country, appreciated their contribution in the field of education and stated that he will provide necessary help if they want to establish a private university in Goa.
