State has more opportunities for youth compared to others: CM

MAPUSA: Stating that Goa has more opportunities for youth compared to other States from pharmaceutical companies to ship building, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said India’s first maritime cluster has commenced in Goa.

He was speaking during the inauguration of Swayampurna Yuva programme organized by the Office of Commissioner, Labour and Employment, Regional Employment Exchange, Model Career Centre, Government of Goa at DM’s College Complex, Mapusa in the presence of Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate, GIDC chairman Glen Ticlo, GSIDC vice chairman Joshua D’Souza. 

The Chief Minister said this initiative has been taken up to make the youth aware of the opportunities available in Goa and facilities provided by Goa Government for them.

Laying emphasis on “Diamond Jubilee for Technical Education (DJ-GIFT Scheme) to incentivize students’ enrolment in Technical Institutions in Goa, he said the Swayampurna Yuva programme will provide employment opportunities to job seekers.

He said the Goa Government under the IT Start-up Policy and other start-ups provides subsidy up to Rs 10 lakh.
