State ready to discuss Mhadei outside court, says Shripad

PANJIM: Stating that BJP President Amit Shah never promised to give Mhadei water to Karnataka, AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik on Saturday said the party is ready for discussions with the neighbouring Sate on the issue.
“First of all Amit Shah never said he will give water in six months. What he said was he would solve the issue within six months,” Naik said addressing media persons.
Naik further said the State government is ready to discuss the issue outside the court. “We are ready to discuss the issue outside court but Karnataka played mischief and went on to build the dam against the court orders,” he added.
Meanwhile, BJP state president and MP Vinay Tendulkar said the state unit would discuss the reported statement on the Mhadei issue with the national president. “We have to see the formula first. The party will discuss the Mhadei issue with Shah when he is in Goa,” he said.
Tendulkar said that Shah is the party’s national president, and that he would take a decision in the interest of both states. “We have full trust in Shah,” Tendulkar said, adding, “Shah will never compromise on the interests of Goa.”
