Streetlight monitoring system launched at Sanvordem

SANGUEM: Power Minister Nilesh Cabral on Thursday inaugurated the newly launched GPRS based Smart Control and Monitoring Panel System for effective functioning and control of streetlights at Mirabag ward of Sanvordem Panchayat.
The new system which is run on solar power is equipped with blue tooth, WiFi and Internet and whenever there is any problem in the functioning of streetlights which are connected to the system, a signal is send to the main control room at Panjim which will subsequently monitor in getting the problem rectified and put the streetlights back in order.
Unlike other electronic gadgets, the system is also equipped with technology to control power fluctuations due to lightning and thunder which will help protect the panel from being damaged or getting blown off.
On the occasion, Cabral said that he is not the Power Minister of his constituency alone but whole of Goa and that he is available at all the times for any power woes faced by citizens in any part of Goa.
Cabral further said that at times he works overnight to see that the department employees right from labour class to top officers works in right earnest and perform their duties diligently. 
Claiming that he has solved the power problems faced by the people at most of the places, Cabral claimed to have also been working to give best of facilities to the employees working in the electricity department.
“The installation of the new panels will help in doing away the streetlight problems,” Cabral informed.
Panchayat member Sanjay Naik complimented Cabral for the inauguration of the newly launched GPRS based Power Panels in his ward. Naik informed that ever since Cabral became Power Minister, he has never said no for any proposals forwarded by him to the electricity department and that most of this works are being done as of now without any problems.
