SATTARI: Students from the village of Kodal, Satrem and Derode in Sattari taluka on Tuesday held a protest march to BSNL office at Valpoi, upset over the poor Internet connectivity that keeping them from attending online classes. They demanded that BSNL should set up proper connectivity in their villages with immediate effect.
The students claim that they have to travel at least 16 km to get the connectivity on their mobiles. They have already written a letter to the local village panchayat Nagargao and the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to solve the connectivity problem and regrets that none have replied to them.
The students gave two days to BSNL to resolve their problems and warned, failing which they would show to the office again.
“We have to travel the 16 Kilometers to get the online education from our Derode village. There is no network in our Derode village. After walking 16 kilometers, we are not getting proper network on our mobile. We have informed our local Sarpanch that to install a mobile tower in our village. But our sarpanch is not ready to listen to us, instead he is shouting on us,” says a student.
