Subsidised fish by Oct

PANJIM: As fish prices hit the roof once again, the State government on Thursday assured that it would ensure sale of fish at subsidized rates and ensure that locals are given first preference before exporting the stock. The scheme is expected to be launched in October.

PANJIM: As fish prices hit the roof once again, the State government on Thursday assured that it would ensure sale of fish at subsidized rates and ensure that locals are given first preference before exporting the stock. The scheme is expected to be launched in October.   
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the ongoing monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly that the government has already promised in its budget that fish would be provided at subsidized rate to control the prices. “Fish would be provided through outlets at wholesale rate,” Parrikar said adding that the budget has already announced a scheme for the same.
Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado added that government would start the scheme by October wherein subsidized fish will be sold at various outlets and mobile vans.
