PANJIM: In a direct attack on PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude questioned the capability of the senior-most minister to become chief minister.
Gaude said that BJP, which is the major partner in the government, cannot make Dhavalikar CM. “We have given our support to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and not anybody else. While he is there nobody else can be appointed CM,” Gaude said.
The Minister said that a lot is being spoken about who should be the CM. “The BJP cannot make anybody CM, be it Sudin or anybody else, the alliance partners have to support him to become CM,” he added.
Referring to MGP’s threat of fighting the Assembly by-elections, and Lok Sabha polls, Gaude dared the party to do so. “If MGP has guts then let them contest Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections and show,” he said.
He advised Dhavalikar that if he wants to become CM, he has to first see to his two departments of PWD and Transport. “Is Sudin capable of the post that MGP president Deepak Dhavalikar is asking to hand over CM charge to him?” he asked.
“A person who has been holding PWD and Transport portfolios for many years has not been able to give justice to these two departments, how can he give justice to CM’s office?” he asked.
This is not the first time Gaude has hit out against the Dhavalikars and MGP. In the past too he has been critical of the two brothers. Gaude had defeated Deepak in Priol at the last Assembly elections.
