PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that file related to Sunburn electronic dance music (EDM) festival has not come to his office and he will take a decision once the file reached him.
”File related to Sunburn festival has not come to my office. Let it come then I will take a decision,” Sawant told reporters at his official residence.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister Manohar (Babu) Ajgaonkar had said that the State government had not granted approval for holding the Sunburn EDM festival in December this year.
Ajgaonkar had said the file related to the event has been sent to the Chief Minister for appropriate decision.
On Sunday, organisers of the event, Percept Live had announced that the Sunburn EDM festival would be held at Vagator from December 28 to 30.
To a question, Ajgaonkar said that he was not aware on what basis the Sunburn organisers had announced the dates and that he has now asked the director of tourism to check with them.
The Tourism Minister said that if the COVID-19 situation improves in the State then the government will allow holding of the Sunburn festival, which he added, attracts rich tourists. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently announced Goa will open up for tourism since it had achieved 100 per cent coverage of first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, he added.
