HONDA: The surge in mobile tower installations within the Honda panchayat area has sparked growing fear among local residents. With five mobile towers already present in the village, the recent approval for the erection of three additional towers under the new panchayat has raised alarm bells.
While two of the new towers have already been made operational, the process for installing the third tower is currently underway. Among the existing and planned towers, one is situated at Narayan Nagar, another near the panchayat building, and the third tower is slated to be placed within a panchayat-owned orchard.
Of the eight total towers, four fall within the panchayat’s jurisdiction, two are located on private properties, and two others are positioned within the Honda industrial estate. Consequently, revenue generation for the panchayat will be applicable to only four out of the eight towers.
The influx of these structures has left local residents bewildered and concerned about potential health risks linked to radiation exposure. Furthermore, worries about the impact on the surrounding orchards and environment have added to the community’s unease.
As the proliferation of mobile towers raises pertinent questions about public well-being and environmental preservation, residents of Honda panchayat find themselves grappling with the need for safeguards and a balanced approach to technological expansion.
