SVD Seminary Raia Hosts Lenten Retreat for Chotanagpur Youth Group

SVD Seminary Raia held a religious Lenten retreat for Chotanagpur Youth Group on Monday at Raia. The serene grounds of SVD Seminary Raia echoed with the enthusiastic voices of youth from across Goa as they gathered for the retreat.  The spiritually enriching retreat was organized by Fr. Michael Pereira SVD, the in-charge of Arnold Seva Kendra, Goa along with Fr. Cranston Vaz, SVD and Bro. Vexter Colaco, SVD.

The Lenten retreat unfolded with a series of engaging sessions designed to foster introspection, spiritual growth, and communal bonding conducted by Fr. Cranston and Fr. Michael. The atmosphere was charged with fervent praise and worship, as participants lifted their voices in devotion. The event, tailored for the youth of the Chotanagpur Youth Group, witnessed the participation of the vibrant souls eager to delve deeper into their faith and connect with fellow believers.

Throughout the retreat, thought-provoking talks on the themes of “Lenten Needs” and “God You Can Trust” captivated the hearts and minds of attendees, providing invaluable insights into navigating life’s challenges with faith and resilience. These sessions, led by experiences of the speakers, served as beacons of inspiration, guiding the youth towards a deeper understanding of their spiritual journey.

One of the highlights of the retreat was the solemn procession of the Way of the Cross, which took place against the backdrop of the majestic mountain surrounding the seminary. As participants crossed the path, reflecting on the stations of Christ’s passion, they were reminded of the profound sacrifice and love that form the cornerstone of their faith.

Culminating the retreat was the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, on the top of the SVD Seminary Mountain, a sacred moment of communion and grace. Gathered together as one community, the youth received the Body and Blood of Christ, reaffirming their commitment to walk in His footsteps and share His love with the world.

Fr. Michael Pereira, SVD, expressed his gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the retreat, emphasizing the importance of nurturing the spiritual growth of the youth in today’s challenging times.
