PANJIM: As part of the ‘Swachhta Action Plan’ implementation, Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management along with the National Institute of Water Sports, on Saturday organised an awareness campaign for students at People’s High School in Panjim. The themes for the awareness programme were hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness and 550 students from Class IV and V participated.
The programme was inaugurated by Additional Director General (M R Division) Ministry of Tourism who in his speech highlighted and shared various practices for cleanliness while also informing about the Swatchhta Action Plan.
Dr B Swajan (coordinator and SAP Kerala and Goa) gave a video presentation and delivered a lecture on the cleanliness campaign, whereas Deputy Director (M R Division) Sailesh Kumar shared his views on cleanliness and its importance.
As part of the awareness campaign various activities were conducted in terms of painting and quiz competitions, slogan writing competitions and there was also a street play organised namely ‘Nukkad Natale’ based on responsible tourism and cleanliness awareness.
