Swine flu: 2 more samples test positive, count at 48

PANJIM: Of the six samples sent last week to Manipal for testing for the H1N1 virus, two have returned positive for the virus, with both cases originating from South Goa and both of foreign nationals.

PANJIM: Of the six samples sent last week to Manipal for testing for the H1N1 virus, two have returned positive for the virus, with both cases originating from South Goa and both of foreign nationals.
Confirming the test results, state epidemiologist Dr Utkarsh Betodkar said both received the specified treatment and are well. Both foreign nationals travelled from other parts of the country to Goa when they were tested, he said.
The two samples that tested positive have now brought the total number of positive swine flu cases in the State to 48 since January this year with a total of 270 samples being sent for testing. So far, three have died due to the virus that manifests itself as a cold.
Following the new positive results, 10 new samples were sent for testing, the results of which are expected in a couple of days.
