MAPUSA: A professor from Symbiosis Pune, Merwyn D’Souza enlightened the police staff from Calangute and Saligao on how to manage proactively the rate and type of crime in their jurisdiction on Wednesday.
The interactive session was held at Calangute Police Station. Also present at the session was the Calangute PI Nolasco Raposo and Saligao PI Santosh Dessai.
The speaker addressed various aspects of life including the need to maintain punctuality, importance of proactive policing, staying away from temptations and carrying out their duties meticulously.
The speaker is presently conducting training sessions for MBA students at Symbiosis, Pune and other places in Maharashtra. He has also conducted training sessions for police officials at Pune.
Merwyn is a native of Baga, Calangute and now settled in Pune.
Calangute PI Raposo said that proactive policing helps in controlling crime and disorder.
“It was a very informative session and was well attended by the police personnel from Saligao and Calangute Police Station. It was a pleasure having Merwyn at Calangute Police Station and listening to his valuable lecture on the issues pertaining to efficient and proactive policing,” said Raposo.
