PANJIM: All Goa Private Bus Owners Association (AGPBOA) General Secretary and RTI activist Sudip Tamankar on Saturday demanded that Goa Lokayukta Justice (retd) Ambadas Haribhau Joshi be removed from his post.
Speaking to reporters at Panjim, Tamankar said, ”I had filed a complaint with Goa Lokayukta against Goa Miles, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and Secretary (Transport). I had raised various issues. But now I have learnt that inquiry into the complaint has been closed but I was not informed.”
“I wrote to the Goa Lokayukta seeking to know whether the issues which I raised were legal or illegal. Have I given bogus information or submitted wrong papers? But there is no reply. Only intimation was that it the inquiry has been closed,” he said.
“The Lokayukta says that there is no need of framing guidelines. My question to Lokayukta is whether the Goa Lokayukta Act was framed first or his appointment was made first?” Tamankar questioned.
