PANJIM: The State government on Thursday reconstituted the committee to study the developmental proposals falling within the notified areas like forest, private forest, mangroves and cultivable land.
The five-member committee is headed by Secretary Town and Country Planning (TCP) and has MLA Nilesh Cabral as its members along with three other TCP officials .
Chief Town Planner S T Puttaraju said that the committee would study development proposals such as construction, conversion of use of land under Land Revenue Code falling within categories of notified forests, private forests identified by the Karapurkar Committee and Sawant Committee, sloping land having gradient more than 25 percent, mangrove areas, water bodies and cultivated paddy fields (low lying and presently under cultivation).
These proposals are basically the one referred to by TCP where land is shown as developable (settlement/industrial zone) in Regional Plan, which is in force, he said.
