MARGAO: The Margao police registered an offence against a secondary school teacher for allegedly raping a student from a Salcete village. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim girl, PSI Prandya Joshi registered an offence against the concerned teacher.
An offence has been registered under Section 376, 354, Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police said that the concerned teacher has not been arrested.
Police said that the victim girl was taken for medical examination and report is awaited. According to police sources, the incident is learnt to have taken place between 2012 and 2014. However, the case has been registered now. Police have recorded the statement and further investigation is in progress.
