MARGAO: A 17-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly stabbing his 22-year-old colleague to death at a sausage production unit in Davondem, Fatorda on Saturday evening.
According to information, the incident occurred between 6 pm and 9 pm, when both the youth were working in the kitchen of Domingo Fernandes’ sausage production unit. After completing their work, the duo got into a quarrel over who should do the cleaning work after cutting the meat.
In a fit of anger, the accused grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim Benito Franklyn in his stomach. Benito was taken to Hospicio Hospital, Margao, but having lost a lot of blood, he succumbed to his injury.
He and the accused are natives of Puducherry and were working at Domingo’s unit for quite a while. The police immediately detained the accused and registered a case against him under Section 302 of IPC. Further investigations are in progress.
