PANJIM: The Tejas Express that chugged off from Mumbai’s CST on its inaugural run, arrived at Karmali Railway station on Tuesday 15 minutes after midnight, 20 minutes ahead of schedule, though it had a 45 minute delay departing from Mumbai.
Approximately 250 passengers alighted at Karmali station, but enough taxis at the otherwise deserted station, didn’t put the tourists to much inconvenience.
The train guard and some support staff confirmed that the train hit the 120 kmph speed mark making it one of the fastest trains on the Konkan Railway route. Except for some Wi Fi issues, which passengers complained about, most said that the trip was smooth.
Regular service of the train began on Tuesday. Tejas Superfast will leave Mumbai CST for Karmali at 5.00am every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday and reach Karmali at 1:30 pm the same day. It will leave Karmali for Mumbai at 14:30 hrs the same day and reach there at 11pm.
