MARGAO: Telephone landlines at two major police stations from Salcete are out of order for a long time and police officials do not seem to be interested in activating them.
Telephone lines of the Colva and Maina-Curtorim police stations are out of order for quite some time now. Besides this, the telephone line at the Canacona police station is also dead.
It is pertinent to note that telephone of Maina- Curtorim police station has been out of order for over a month.
One senior citizen alleged that telephone facilities are made available at the police stations to receive information of any crime occurring in the jurisdiction of the police stations etc.
On one hand, the administration is trying to make the police department high-tech by providing them better communication resources while on the other hand, telephones are dead at major police stations in Salcete.
