BELGAUM, AUG 25
Belgaum excise officials on Monday raided a tempo carrying Goa liquor to Belgaum and seized 32 litres of Goa-made IMFL, besides arresting one person in the connection.
According to reports, Excise officials during a routine check of vehicles stopped a tempo (MH-12-AAX-9634).
Parshuram Maruti Pednekar of Jambot village was arrested and was produced in court and has been sent to the judicial custody.
Excise PI N C Patil, PSI Ravi Marigouder and staff under the guidance of Excise Joint Commissioner Prabhuswami and Deputy Commissioner G M Wali have intensified the checking of inflow of liquor from Goa to Belgaum.
Checking has been intensified at Jamboti and Kankumbi as there is a tremendous rise in number of travelers from Goa to Belgaum on the occasion of weeklong Ganesh festival holidays.
